OLDER PERSONS CARE

At Better at Home, we offer a comprehensive array of practical support services tailored to the unique needs of older individuals, particularly those dealing with age-related health challenges. We recognise that each of our clients is an individual with distinct requirements and preferences. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to maintain connections with family, friends, and their local community while remaining in the comfort of their own home.
All our staff members undergo full Garda vetting, are insured, reference checked, and operate under Better at Home's governance structure.

Overnight Care

Better at Home offers both waking and sleeping overnight care options within the comfort of your own home. This service provides reassurance to individuals, ensuring they feel secure at night knowing that assistance is readily available if needed. Additionally, we offer valuable respite for family caregivers who may require assistance in caring for their loved ones.
Waking Overnight:

  • Our caregiver will remain awake throughout the night, ready to provide assistance or support whenever required.
  • Alternatively, the caregiver can check on you at agreed-upon intervals, such as hourly or every two hours, ensuring your safety and well-being throughout the night.
Sleeping Overnight:

  • This service covers a 10 or 12-hour period, as pre-agreed upon.
  • Your caregiver will assist you in settling down for bed and then retire to a nearby room to sleep.
  • Despite resting, they will remain on call and readily available should you require assistance during the night.

Respite Care:

Better at Home offers respite services to provide much-needed relief for family members and full-time caregivers who are caring for frail, elderly, or loved ones with a disability. Our goal is to offer caregivers the opportunity to take a break, recharge, and rejuvenate themselves. During this time, a personalised care plan will be implemented, and our caregiver will assume the responsibilities of the primary caregiver.

Our respite services can be utilised in various ways:
  • Regular Breaks: Whether it's a day off each week or a week of respite every month or two, we provide consistent support to ensure caregivers have time to rest and recharge.
  • Temporary Assistance: We offer one-time respite services to allow caregivers to take extended holidays for a week or two, providing peace of mind knowing their loved one is well cared for in their absence.
  • Emergency Coverage: In situations where a caregiver requires hospitalisation, our respite services step in to provide temporary support and care for their loved one until they can resume their caregiving role.
